Dr. Shawn Mathur

Shawn Mathur, M.D. is a Urologist who practices in the North Houston area. He received his undergraduate degree from The University of Texas at Austin where he graduated with highest honors as a Dean’s Honored Graduate. He earned his medical degree at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He completed a one year General Surgery internship and four year Urology residency at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, where he served as a Chief Resident in his final year. Dr. Mathur treats patients with all Urologic conditions and has a special interest in the treatment and management of kidney stones, genitourinary cancers, BPH/enlarged prostate, urinary incontinence, recurrent urinary tract infections, erectile dysfunction, vasectomy and vasectomy reversal, male infertility, pelvic organ prolapse and urethral strictures. He has extensive training and experience using minimally invasive treatment techniques including laparoscopy and the da Vinci robotic system.

Dr. Mathur strives to provide compassionate care to all of his patients. His goal is to educate patients about all of their treatment options and work as a team to identify the best treatment course. He also places special emphasis on disease prevention in order to help keep his patients healthy. Dr. Mathur enjoys staying up to date with the newest scientific research and cutting edge treatment modalities for urologic conditions. He maintains an active membership in the American Urological Association, the Texas Medical Association and the American Medical Association. He has privileges at Kingwood Medical Center, Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital and the Memorial Hermann Surgical Hospital at Kingwood. He speaks English, limited Spanish and fluent Hindi. In his free time, he enjoys playing electric guitar, tennis and golf.

Dr. Mathur’s only sees patients 18 years of age and older.
