ABOUT Dr. Koyenum Obi

Dr. Koyenum Obi is a general cardiologist at Wellspire Medical, with a focus on cardiovascular disease prevention, cardiac imaging, and women’s heart health. She’s passionate about bridging the gap in cardiovascular care and finding innovative ways to improve heart health in the community.

Dr. Obi earned her Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from Ross University School of Medicine and completed both her internal medicine residency and cardiovascular disease fellowship at Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans, where she served as Chief Fellow and received the Cardiovascular Disease Rookie of the Year award. She is board certified in internal medicine, echocardiography, and nuclear cardiology.

In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Obi has contributed to a number of published research articles and abstracts in cardiology. She is an active member of the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association and remains committed to ongoing learning and advancing cardiovascular care in the community.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Obi is all about good food, new places, and an active lifestyle. She finds joy in cooking, traveling, and staying fit — because a happy heart starts with a healthy, balanced life.
