Hib disease can cause bacterial meningitis, pneumonia, severe swelling in the throat, infections of the blood and heart, and even death. The first dose is received at 2 months of age, second dose at 4 months of age, third dose at 6 months of age, and then the final dose between 12 and 15 months.
