Stay Covered and Stay Connected with Your Wellspire Provider

October 27, 2025

Open Enrollment is here!

From October 15 through December 7, it’s time to review your Medicare and plan coverage for the upcoming year.

What is Open Enrollment?

This is the period when Americans review and select their Medicare and market plan coverage for the upcoming year. Patients can make changes to their plans, switch carriers, or adjust benefits during this time.

Why This Matters

Each year, plans change — sometimes a lot. Next year, some plans will no longer include Wellspire Medical in-network. Changes can also affect your monthly premium, deductible, copays/coinsurance, out-of-pocket maximum, and prescription drug coverage (formulary tiers and preferred pharmacies). Reviewing your benefits now helps you avoid surprise costs and ensures you can keep seeing the doctors who know you best.

Who Should Take Action

  • Patients age 65 or older (or turning 65 within the next 3 months) — you may be eligible for Medicare or Medicare Advantage
  • Patients with these plans should pay special attention:
    • Kelsey Care Advantage
    • BlueCross Medicare Advantage
    • BlueCross Medicare Advantage PPO

If you have one of these plans, you need to review your coverage by December 7th in order to keep your Wellspire Medical provider in 2026.

Quick Checklist:

These are some of the things you can keep in mind when choosing a plan.

  • Life changes: Make sure your new plan fits any changes, like marriage, children, a shift in your health or financial status, that affect what coverage you may need.
  • Provider network: Are Wellspire Medical and your preferred clinicians in-network?
  • Monthly premium: Will what you pay each month go up or down?
  • Deductible & out-of-pocket max: How much before the plan pays, and your yearly spending cap.
  • Copays/coinsurance: Amounts for office visits, specialists, urgent care, ER, and telehealth.
  • Prescription coverage: Are your meds still on the formulary and in what tier? Any prior authorization or step therapy?
  • Pharmacy network: Is your usual pharmacy “preferred” for lower costs?
  • Covered services: Labs, imaging, behavioral health, PT/OT, maternity, and medical supplies.
  • Referrals & authorizations: Any new requirements to see specialists or get tests?
  • HSA/HRA/FSA eligibility: Did the plan type change affect account use?
  • Out-of-network benefits: What’s covered if you go outside the network?
